What else do I need?

After you have decided how many nappies and wraps you will need there are only a couple of essentials:

• A nappy bucket: to store used nappies. A 16 litre bucket will hold between one and two days worth of soiled nappies.

• A wet nappy bag: for storing soiled nappies when you are out.

• Non biological washing detergent.

• Nappi Nippas: if you have chosen to use nappies without velcro or popper fastenings.

You may find the following items useful, but they are not essential:

• A nappy net: to line your nappy bucket and make transferring soiled nappies to the washing machine an easier task.

• Liners: either biodegradable or washable, both draw moisture away from your baby’s bottom and can make changing soiled nappies much easier.

• Nappy soak: either a commercial brand or tea tree oil, or if you would like to try something a little different, how about the gorgeously scented nappy buddies.

• Washable wipes: save yourself even more money and protect your baby’s bottom from harsh chemicals, simply wash alongside your nappies.
